About us

Founded in 2023 by a clinician who saw too many patients face the end of life without dignity or support.

Our story

In Northern Uganda, where the effects of conflict, poverty and fragile infrastructure still linger, our founders saw the same thing again and again: people with chronic and life-limiting illness facing pain and death without dignity or medical support, and families left to cope alone.

Christine Susan Akidi, our co-founder, brings more than 25 years of experience in the medical field and a long commitment to palliative care. Her idea was simple: a community clinic where people are seen, heard and cared for as whole people, from first diagnosis to the end of life, and everything in between.

In 2023 that idea became CLAGOT MEDICARE in Gulu. We measure our progress one patient, one family and one community at a time.
